This house was built on the site and within the footprint of an old family home, designed for dual use as a tourist rental in a rural setting. The longitudinal layout of the existing structure was used to create three identical two-story apartments in a row. Each apartment on the northern side features a sunken courtyard with an outdoor kitchen, while the southern side opens onto a garden terrace. Although equipped with modern heating and cooling systems, the intelligent design allows for passive heating and cooling for most of the year. The auxiliary building, envisioned as the estate’s social hub, is a hybrid space combining a pool and a cellar with a gym in the basement.
